Early Years
School Life
At FGS, our Early Years curriculum is rooted in the culture, values, and context of Pakistan while reflecting internationally recognised approaches to early childhood education. It is carefully structured to ensure clear progression in children’s learning, with the Cambridge Early Years framework used as one of several international reference points for quality and curriculum development. Our programme provides strong foundations in early literacy, numeracy, communication, and understanding of the world, while nurturing confidence, curiosity, creativity, independence, and positive relationships. Through purposeful play, exploration, and guided learning, children develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes they need to thrive in school and beyond.
Children develop through six key curriculum areas:
- Communication and Literacy – Building speaking, listening, vocabulary, phonics, early reading, and writing skills through stories, conversations, rhymes, and meaningful language experiences.
- Creative Expression – Encouraging imagination and confidence through art, music, movement, drama, role play, and creative exploration.
- Mathematics – Developing early numeracy, number sense, patterns, shapes, measurement, sequencing, and problem-solving through engaging hands-on activities.
- Physical Development – Strengthening coordination, balance, fine motor skills, healthy habits, and physical confidence through active play and outdoor learning.
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development – Helping children build friendships, manage emotions, develop independence, respect others, and grow as confident learners.
- Understanding the World Inspiring curiosity through exploration of people, nature, technology, cultures, and the environment, laying the foundations for science, humanities, and digital literacy.
