At FGS, our Middle School curriculum for Grades 6–8 is carefully structured and internationally benchmarked to provide clear progression, academic depth, and strong preparation for secondary education.It equips learners with the knowledge, confidence, and independent learning skills needed to progress successfully into Matriculation or Cambridge O Level pathways.The Middle School years form an important bridge between primary learning and more specialised secondary study.During this stage, students strengthen their understanding of core subjects, develop effective study habits, and become increasingly responsible for their own learning.Our curriculum encourages students to:

 Our Middle School Curriculum Includes

English

Learners develop advanced reading, writing, speaking and listening skills through literature, comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, creative and formal writing, debates, presentations and exposure to a wide range of fiction, non-fiction and media texts.

Urdu

Students strengthen reading, writing, speaking and listening in Urdu through prose, poetry, grammar, comprehension, composition, handwriting, vocabulary development and cultural texts, supporting both language fluency and appreciation of national identity.

Mathematics

Students build fluency in number, algebra, geometry, measurement, data handling, ratio, proportion and problem-solving. The curriculum develops mathematical reasoning, accuracy, logical thinking and the ability to apply concepts in unfamiliar situations.

Science

The Science curriculum develops understanding across biology, chemistry, physics, earth and space science, and scientific enquiry. Students learn to question, hypothesise, investigate, observe, record data, analyse results and draw evidence-based conclusions.

Social Studies / History and Geography

Learners explore people, places, environments, history, culture, citizenship, governance, economy and global connections. The curriculum encourages critical thinking, source analysis, geographical enquiry, civic responsibility and understanding of both local and international contexts.

Islamiyat

Students deepen their understanding of Islamic beliefs, values, Seerah, Islamic history, worship, ethics and moral responsibility. Emphasis is placed on respect, compassion, honesty, discipline, responsibility and applying values in daily life.

Computer Science and Digital Literacy

Students develop digital confidence through computing skills, safe and responsible technology use, digital research, presentation tools, data handling, problem-solving, coding concepts, computational thinking and awareness of emerging technologies.

Art and Design

Learners explore drawing, painting, design, craft, visual communication, pattern, colour, texture and art appreciation. They develop creativity, observation, presentation skills and the ability to express ideas visually.

Music, Drama and Performing Arts

Students build confidence, expression, collaboration and creativity through drama, movement, performance, role play, rhythm, voice and presentation activities.

Physical Education and Health

The programme supports fitness, coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, resilience and healthy lifestyle habits through games, athletics, sports, movement and health-related learning.

Personal, Social and Emotional Development

Students develop confidence, self-awareness, emotional regulation, empathy, leadership, teamwork, respect, responsibility and positive learning habits. This supports wellbeing, character development and readiness for adolescence.

Global Citizenship and Life Skills

Learners are encouraged to understand their role in society and the wider world. They develop communication, collaboration, decision-making, environmental awareness, cultural respect, financial awareness, enterprise thinking and responsible citizenship.
